Our Business of Construction: Then and Now

JR Civil was formed in 2013 in Sheridan, Wyoming with one purpose in mind – fulfill a need. What was needed in the region was a civil contractor that was timely, economical, and knowledgeable. At the same time, that company needed to have the flexibility, drive, and resources to cut through the red tape of large corporate structures to simply get the job done.

Starting simple and small, our handful of dedicated employees successfully completed project after project in the local region, building a platform based on safety, quality, and production. To continue growing in the region, we continually invested in our personnel through means of safety and quality training as well as invested in our equipment and technology. We knew that intentional, wise, and calculated business practices for JR Civil meant a better-quality contractor to fulfill our client’s needs.

Today, our business has grown into multiple offices and our service network has expanded into Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota. By bringing on additional offices and field staff while implementing the newest technology and training, we continue to complete larger and more complex projects. We thrive on accomplishing technical and difficult projects in challenging locations to the highest of standards of quality, coordination, and performance.

JR Civil delivers projects through a variety of contracting approaches ranging from traditional contracting arrangements to turnkey design-build and CM/GC project execution.

Our Scope of Work Includes:

Environmental Health and Safety

Environmental Health and Safety is an integral part of risk management at JR Civil. Jr Civil’s history of construction practices have shown that the more harmonized our safety practices are among our employees, contractors, and vendors in terms of accident avoidance, hazard identification, and hazard mitigation, the safer and more successful our project results are.

Our Safety-Is-Paramount approach to each and every project eliminates worksite accidents and incidents through pre-project planning, safety audits and inspections, and training.  Employees undergo initial and refresher safety training classes, obtain safety certifications, and are continuously evaluated to ensure that safety remains the most important priority above all other project related requirements.

We strive to continually improve and identify risk while creating and enforcing programs to reduce exposure for every current and upcoming project.  Project evaluations and employee feedback is not only welcome but required to ensure any risk that was present during one project is reduced or eliminated on the next.  This results in an outstanding safety record in our industry.  JR Civil’s commitment to safety is evident through our EMR of 0.7340 and a TRIR of ZERO.

We’re committed to the health and safety for all project members and the community alike.
